SR. VICE COMANDER

Daniel Wong
Greetings to all at VFW Post 1622,
Let me start off by saying that I appreciate those who support me and I look forward to making things better and more efficient at the post. I am a firm believer in fighting f or what’s right as long as it’s valid and logical. Some people are scared to speak their minds but I am not. I encourage anyone with any issue to come to me and share the issue; if it proves valid I will be more than happy to bring it up at a meeting anonymously on your behalf. No matter how big or small the issue is, and if you have a valid solution or just want more input I’d love to help. I feel some people have lost sight of what the VFW is about and that’s helping our fellow combat vets.
This isn’t a popularity contest nor is it job that makes anyone obligated to do anything, this is about patriotism and volunteerism to help those combat vets and
their families in need. I give respect where respect is due. Just because I’m the young new guy on the block, from a more recent war (Operation Iraqi Freedom) doesn’t make me less a man nor a better or worse combat soldier than any other veteran, and I’m definitely not “young and dumb”. When it comes to volunteerism, it would help
if others announced what is going on and how many people they would like to help. One thing I noticed is lack of communication at the post. We are all equal.
Help me to help you.
In closing, it’s 2010 ladies and gents, not all things can stay the same. There’s an old saying, “Out with the old and in with the new.” I don’t believe in that because like another saying goes, “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.” Instead I like a modified saying, “Learn from the old, but keep up with the new.”
Respectfully,
Senior Vice Commander
