HOSPITAL REPORT

 

The following items were received for the Long Beach VA and the Houses of Cabrillo for the period of June 14, 2010 thru August 20, 2010:  Alan donated magazines.  Alice Welch donated greeting cards, note cards and note pads.  Art Conley and his wife donated comfort items, plus floss, toothpaste, toothbrushes and disposable razors.  Bill Estes gave a monetary donation.  Bob Polk donated hours of his valuable time to fix my ‘broke’ computer free of charge.  Candy and Dave Sundberg donated a working TV w/VCR and VCR tapes.  Collette Reames donated VCR tapes, comfort items and sugar free candy.  Dee Serio donated women’s clothing.  Doris (Bingo) donated many, many handmade scarves.  Gloria & Rich Garcia donated women and men’s clothing plus shoes.  Hazel & John donated paperbacks.  Herman Sprainis donated lots and lots of note cards, greeting cards, note pads and pens.  Ida Hochderffer donated comfort items and other goodies.  Jack & Grace Willard donated men’s clothing.  Judy & Phil donated paperbacks, books, magazines and deluxe jigsaw puzzles.  Linda & Michael donated comfort items, plus toothpaste, toothbrushes and other goodies.  Men’s Auxiliary paid for items such as activity books, crayons, etc for the children of veterans plus they gave a monetary donation for the 4th District visit to the LBVA Nursing Home for Bingo prizes.  Peggy & Bob Deurloo (from New Mexico!) donated VCR tapes, comfort items, toothpaste and toothbrushes.  Melissa donated a crate of bananas and a case of oranges for the LBVA Nursing home visit.  Melissa & Tom donated comfort items and body wash plus so many, other goodies.  Robert Varga donated men’s clothing.  Sharon & Robert donated magazines.  Shirley Pia donated women’s clothing.  Steve (A caller for Bingo) donated comfort items.

 

Thank you for all the items that were needed.  I appreciate each and every one of you for all you do for the LBVA and the House of Cabrillo.  It is people like you and Dave Winter, Ida, Robbi and Carmen that make the monthly trips to LBVA that share the honor of being the No. 1 Hospital for our division in the state of California for 2nd year!!  Many, many thanks!!
